On Auroville 2022 to 2025

Well-wishers and donors need to be reassured that their efforts will serve the purposes for which they have been invited and welcomed, and that their collaboration will not be arbitrarily exploited. Individuals who feel the call to give their whole lives and resources to the task set forth by the Mother need to be sure that no other conditions will be imposed than their sincerity. How does the Government see its role and action in the next period of time and does it have expectations as to how those concerned must behave, other than those expressed by the Mother and implied by the teachings of Sri Aurobindo? How does the Government wish to invite participants to the adventure of Auroville and elicit their self-giving and creativity in the seeking for new forms to a new consciousness in all areas and fields of work and physical existence, towards an actual human unity? Does the Government wish to subordinate the character of the task to its own programs and priorities in the context of education and social progress? Or does the Government aim at improving and hastening the creation of a collective cradle for the new being announced and foreseen by Sri Aurobindo, and if so, does it have a organisational plan to be proposed to which one may choose to subscribe? Such are some of the questions that, together, call for a clear and unambiguous statement of intent and commitment on the Central Government‟s part, which will be most welcome.
