On Auroville 2022 to 2025

Greetings and salutations, Whether an upheaval is destructive or transformative, and whether it is willed by man or by the divine, who can tell with absolute certainty? But as regards Auroville, founded by the Mother on the b asis of Sri Aurobindo‟s teachings to endeavour and establish a first example of collective dedicated harmony upon earth, towards the physical manifestation of a new principle of consciousness in life and matter, human will must necessarily learn to receive and unite with the divine will in an ever progressive and comprehensive process. Auroville was meant by the Mother to be a site of research gathering individuals from all over the world who choose to give themselves entirely to such a process of accelerated evolution, as a service to the divine consciousness and humanity as a whole . In today‟ world, this experiment requires a certain amount of protection so that it can develop with as much freedom as possible in order to offer all movements and energies to the new consciousness in full trust and to learn through it all. The Government of India, Bharat Mata - the one land and nation where the spirit has always and continuously been part of life -, has for decades offered its protection to this attempt, provided it with a legal existence and participated financially in some of its activities, such as education, while maintaining a position of non-interference. However, since 2021, this stance has altered dramatically to the extent that one may justifiably won der about the destiny of Auroville‟s identity as a site of conscious research for the future of the earth. So it has become very necessary that the Government of India now issues a clear declaration of intent and commitment, regarding the path being chosen; it is only fair and humane to do so, but more importantly, it is essential for everyone concerned, whether physically in Auroville or not, to know directly from the Government what course is being elected. Those who are present and have been participants to the physical existence of Auroville, as well as all those who have contributed to its well-being in one way or another, all need to know what the Government‟s plan is for Auroville.
