Berths in all classes are reserved to provide sleeping ac- commodation from 9P.M.-6A.M. only. Sitting passengers must be accommodated during day up to the marked capacity of the Compartment. 3. Validity of Reservation Tickets: Reservation tickets are valid only for the particular train and the particular date for which they are issued. If reservation is required on days or by trains other than that originally arranged, fresh reservation tickets must be purchased. The reservation fee is not refund- able if the passangers fail to avail themselves of the seats or berths. 4. The reservation fee should be levied whenever journey is bro- ken on through tickets and reservation of seat or berth has been asked for by the passenger treating it as a fresh request for reservation. Note: The above reservation fee will be charged for child/conces- sion tickets also. 1. The reservation fee will be realised from all passengers, travel- ling in reserved coaches, at the time of booking in advance or on the train. First class reservation fee will be realised when booked in advance or where night jounrey is involved. 2. The above reservation charges will be applicable in respect of passengers from roadside stations also in whose favour reser- vation message has been issued received and processed in the computerised system. 3. In the case of through passengers who have to change at an intermediate station, the starting station will advise the junction concerned of the reservation required but reservation cannot be guaranteed by connecting train. Refund in case of lower class travel If, for want of accommodation a passenger is constrained to travel in a class lower than for which he holds a ticket, the differ- ence in fare will be refunded at the destination station within 20 hours of the train's arrival at the destination station on production of a certificate from the Conductor/Guard/TTE certifying to this fact. Unused unreserved tickets Rupees five per passenger will be deducted on unused tickets on which no reservation of a seat or berth has been made, if presented for cancellation within three hours after the actual de- parture of the train. Refund on Tickets Railways permit refund of fares in case of cancellation of jour- ney, after deducation of cancellation charges as indicated earlier.

Refund on lost tickets No refund will be made on lost or misplaced or torn/mutilated tickets. However, if a passenger loses a reserved ticket or holds a torn/mutilated ticket, the Station Superintendents or Chief Reser- vation Supervisor may at their discretion permit the same person to travel in the same train on the same day and on the same reserva- tion by issuing a duplicate paper ticket on payment of : a) 25% of the total fare, in the case of ticket for journey upto 500 kms. b) 10% of the total fare, in the case of ticket for journey more than 500 kms, subject to the minimum recovery of 25% of the total charges for the reserved ticket of 500 kms; and Refund due to dislocation of train services When a train journey is dislocated on account of unforeseen circumstances such as accidents, breaches, floods etc., the fare will be refunded as follows : i If the Railway Administration is unable to carry the passenger to the destination station within a reasonable time by arrang- ing transhipment of, if the passenger is unable to continue his journey on account of injuries sustained in a railway accident- full refund without deducting fare for the travelled portion and without levy of cancellation charges will be granted. ii If the Railway administration offers to carry the passengers to the destination by making alternative arrangement, but the passenger is unwilling to avail of such an alternative arrangement refund will be granted after retaining fare for the travelled portion and the balance in full. c) 25% of the total fare, irrespective of distance, for tickets of trains which have seperate all-inclusive fare structure on point to point basis.
