Another Choice

One is encouraged to believe that one’s feelings, through their intensity, will procure rights over the other or will make of one the other’s possession - a territorial claim will thus be exerted.

Attraction and seduction, one is drawn by the dance of a mutual assessment.

It does happen that, for a period which will soon appear very brief, the terms of approach and receptivity may seem compatible and compromises on both sides may be embraced and there may take place that rare flight towards the absolute meeting – in this instant of energy which seems to contain our entire call for the primordial and concrete Union, as if our whole need were finding its shore.

Attachment and tearing apart, jealousy and dissimulation, fidelity and betrayal, the successive dramas of our lives are like as many knotted balls of yarn we shall have to loosen or dissolve.

Women or men – human beings prisoners of one exclusivism or another -, whether we conform or we revolt, our various sexual identities haunt us and undermine the uncertain foundations of our individual equilibrium.

We say, “there it is, there is our human condition, let each one do their best since the terms are impregnable and the habit of death governs us all…”.

One of the first effects of the activation of the inner gaze is a sort of distancing, which allows us to distinguish the origin and character of our emotional and sensual urges and needs.

And even while the clarity of this gaze helps us to differentiate the movements that manifest in and through our individual nature and occupy our physical consciousness, there gradually occurs not a rejection but a disengagement: we cease identifying so closely with whatever expresses or tries to act in us or through our personality.
