… I have to go a little slow today: yesterday night I fell from the motor-cycle and hurt my right knee. Finding two cows coming straight at me, in the dark, at the last turn before home – with this peculiar nonchalant assurance and absence of fear cows have on any road -, I had to brake abruptly and swerved and skidded and flew off; the cows just walked on and away, the motor-cycle came neatly to rest on its side with its engine still running, but my knee took the whole impact of the fall and I first thought “ok, that’s it, this is the result of the ill-will in the morning and my not heeding, later in the day, the sense that a trip to the town wasn’t timely…’. But then I called for peace and trust and gathered myself and stood up and managed to drive the last stretch home and cleaned myself and today, with the help of a grip bandage, I can move… … While I am preparing for the puja, this Dr. Rao and his wife, who used to live in a neighboring Ashram orchard, come to visit after long; they sit before Sri Ganesh and sing together several slokas and offer some coins and that is all very fine; but then they want to talk about the new Highways (they are no longer affected as they have moved to town already some two or three years back) and their goodwill and sympathy are not helpful, forming as they are around second or third hand information.
