The whole of last night rain poured with bewildering abundance and the thunder was powerful, deep and rambling and the ground was vibrating and the houses were shaking…! … Parthy is to go to Chennai to-morrow with Selvam for a check-up; the doctors will try and find if there is any pus collection in his thigh and may decide to incise and drain… But as of now, neither they nor we know what causes these strange swellings; sometimes when I apply my hands on his thigh, it is almost as if there was an animal trapped in there, resisting and fighting and not letting go: it is very odd. Most times I find the only way to respond is to infuse tenderness and peace…
