… The body is struggling on and on and the condition of the legs is quite poorly: I haven’t found the way yet to actual progress in the physical being… … I wonder more pointedly now at the inner significance of the transformations Lord Ganesh underwent – from a major representation of evil forces issuing from the dark mothers to the open-faced, cheerful, strong and wide champion of progress, increase and blessedness… Even though it was Kali Yuga deepening ahead, or perhaps rather because it was the nadir of Kali Yug looming ahead momentously, it is as if the choice was made, then, to affirm the presence of the Supreme everywhere, including the deepest obscurity of will and intent… It is as if at that time it had been intuited that, rather than prolonging this division of evil and the ensuing renunciation and liberation from all manifestation (as all manifestation could only be corrupt), one must thereafter strive to reconcile the extremes and learn to find the Supreme in the midst of all contradictions, so that Kali Yuga would eventually yield the fruit of an integrated world and condition of existence…
