Spiritual birth reveals that the One is in everything, sustains all, contains all - that nothing exists outside the One.

And so, when one falls back in the ordinary consciousness, shattered but not yet really different, the great Question, like an involuntary grimace, soon arises again = how is it that this world may be so sordid and hurtful, that this humanity, however promising and ardent, may shelter and generate so much ugliness and misery? Yet, when one reflects upon it, even in our ignorance estranged from unity, one must perforce accept the evidence = all manifestation must necessarily include every possibility of opposition so as to be truly integral and progressive.

Therefore, indeed, Evil is a possibility which must be explored until its resolution.

For many centuries already, our experience of terrestrial human life takes place in a double environment – the environment that Nature provides and the built environment which is our second nature. Since a few decades only, we have been acquiring and learning to cope with a third milieu, the technological milieu, which is becoming a third nature with its own functioning and requirements and its capacity to join and to amplify as well as its power to rule and possess.

Would we still find traces of vanished civilizations and of their attempts to govern the Earth, if we were able to search the folds and craters of sunken continents? Or is it that the multiform sub-marine life has seen to their utter decomposition?
