Who among us all has never wished upon another a suffering equal to that which was inflicted on us? Vengeance and retaliation?

Damnation. The very notion of damnation = where did it come from?

The damned of the earth. Is earth damned? The human species?

In principle, the soul, in the course of the psychic being’s silent development through lifetimes, may choose an experience of extreme difficulty so as to complement its acquired awareness and its ability to serve. But can one possibly choose the abominable agony of a torn, tortured, dismembered body? Mayhaps, if the purpose is to reinforce one’s aptitude for the inner equality of the deeper consciousness which is free of all bonds and knows itself eternal…

Thus, this very horror too can facilitate an awakening of one’s awareness and a release into the True, the incorruptible and permanent.
