(Note: One may say that, nowadays, there is rather an increase of Lord Ganesha’s popularity; his figure and the unlikely association of qualities it brings about make him easily into a mascot, a friendly talisman, a token of goodwill and good luck, a testimony to the fundamental rightness of the world, and as such it has become well- appreciated, albeit in a very inconspicuous fashion, well beyond the borders of India and the boundaries of Asia. And there has been a feeling in me ever since I have been nudged into this relation with Sri Ganesh that in many ways he is the ideal channel to spread, carry, convey, communicate and radiate the Mother’s work for the earth. And my question has been “why couldn’t Sri Ganesh actually be a concrete vehicle for the Supramental action upon earth?” Even without reaching for that, why couldn’t he simply help bringing the humans to some saner sense and respect for the integrity of the earth and the divinity of the physical world?)
