But, over the years, I had become wary of my own confusion, rushing unready to such concrete experiences and meeting mostly trouble: I had for instance gone once too far in sensing the center at the base of the spine, and got a full-fledged urinary infection for my silly behavior… Not that I was seeking anything – any kind of personal power - actually, I only yearned to find the keys to lasting balance and harmony and independence of the habitual exchanges of unclear energies that we all must survive with… In this way I had already a concrete experience of what is termed “Amrit”: the actual Nectar. Regarding the arrangement of the centers and the traditionally appointed residence of Lord Ganesha – the Muladhara – I had read a study written by a scholar and serious devotee who contested the traditional location of this center; he claimed that it was not at the base of the spine, but in the center of the head, very near to all the crucial internal glands that command the body’s processes, and that only there could Lord Ganesha be seated!, instead of being - ignorantly, according to him - associated with the excretion and secretion orifices of the body’s functions. Be that as it may, my own physical experience has been mostly in the center of the head, but I have also sensed its direct connection with the lowest center within the body.)
