This year, besides the ritual invitation of Suresh De and his wife, who both sang wonderfully, I also asked Uma and Jean-Yves to come and sing a few slokas afterwards. We arranged many garlands as usual, but this time, I wanted more greens around Sri Ganesh and many golden corn hobs. I have dressed Sri Ganesh in green and gold; rather than a crown, I have covered his head with jasmine; all around and behind him are thick layers of marikolundu grass, then fresh corn cobs, jasmine, and a wide expanse of yellow gold chrysanthemums; this a call, a prayer for Bhoomi, Prithvi: Sri Ganesh must help undo the poison, remove the sheaths of ignorance and cruelty…
