(Note: Now and then I would venture into learning a new mantra – or one of the Vedas which would most resonate within – and, once I could memorize it, which would take me a few days, seeking for its tune, which most times would take me another few days; then I would take the jump and try and sing it to Sri Ganesh. His little shrine; in its inner room; has this particular spot where even my voice, untrained and untalented, deeply and clearly echoes; it is like a sophisticated sound-system, and it has taught me how to pronounce Aum and fill it with the breath.
