Which town?

Consciousness is free at each and every instant; it discerns at every moment the prevailing balance of forces and possibilities, constantly carries in itself its own unutterable Aim and submits to nothing else than to the Law of the Supreme, to the Way of the One. Many a time She had warned them all, “do not ever make a doctrine of my words; they are the Force in action in a given context and for a particular and unique necessity in the infinite unfolding…” But we still need security and the comfort of referring to firm guidelines and uncontested priorities, so we can base our actions on an accessible and verifiable logic. Yet, what She communicated to this one this time and to that one at that time appeared to most everyone’s mind as contradictory, or as implying courses of action that were incompatible in actual facts on the ground.

This first “youth camp”, She named “Aspiration”.

Thus did the expected caravan arrive: the first time that a group did arrive with a common objective and a group identity, however recently formed during the weeks of a testing journey, and certain notions of community dynamics, a certain tendency for protest and a well-shared distrust of authority, roles and positions – and, too, an almost complete ignorance of “spiritual things”. Once they were disembarked and ensconced in the huts erected with much care and ingeniousness to provide them with ready shelter, on the edge of the steep slope leading down to the ocean, She left them free to come to Her at their individual rhythm.

And for each of them, this came to be the meeting that changed their lives.
