services, to the educational requirements of all the children, to all energy expenditures and to all unforeseen and unexpected calls?

Practically, physically, materially, can a collectivity that is entirely given to its task rely on the Grace?

It seems evident that certain inner conditions must first be fulfilled – a very great sincerity and a constant progress in consciousness so as to unite to the movement of becoming, are surely indispensable, on the part of each of its members as on the part of its whole. And so it was that observation, experience and a pragmatic reflection have led the community to adopt a financial and economic management mode which is more of a compromise and optimistic juggling act than a satisfying and lasting solution.

Thus there is a management system in place = the community expenses are periodically calculated, all gains and profits are added up, each member holds a current account off which are deducted monthly percentages used to cover the costs of collective services and each of those who depend on the community receives a modest amount, annually revised, while those who have personal means are invited to contribute at least an equivalent amount and, if possible, to fraternally increase it.

Few are those, however, who can subsist without deprivation on this allotted sum.
