measure the importance of the gesture you have made. But it is very important. It is as important as the laying of the first stone of the Matrimandir. It means that your material being had understood a little what is the significance of the Mother’s presence upon earth. It is like a direct bridge you have cast between your physical being and the Grace of the future. What you perhaps do not know, is that this Agenda, it is not just books, it is not even a teaching, not even experiences; it is beyond all that, more powerful than all of that: it is the Mother’s body. It is the living Force to transform the world. Without his, there is no Auroville. Without this, there is no new world. It is not a book: it is a puissant radioactive mineral. You can read it and understand, or not understand, or understand a little what is in it, but it is really of little consequence; what matters is that you touch this book, that you touch this Force, that you enter into contact with the Force which CAN transform. This is what the Agenda is. And then, Mother so much appreciated the material gesture of “giving”, yes, banknotes. Money is precisely the lair of the adversary. It always goes to the selfish use, even when its appearances are altruistic. But to give for Mother, is a concrete act which is more important than all philosophies and lectures and than those more or less clouded sentiments with which one wraps things around. To give means to make one’s body participate. So, I am certain that your gesture has a profound meaning for the future and that it is both a promise and a blessing for Auroville. What you perhaps do not know either, is that this Agenda, it is a little (or may be a lot) the symbol of the battle for the New World. It is a formidable battle, of which Auroville is only a small reflection. What could a few men understand, two thousand years ago, around a being who was named the Christ? What do we know, today, of the meaning of Mother and Sri Aurobindo? And will that seed, once again, be perverted, imprisoned in a religion, shut in a politico-spiritual power? Or will it fructify and freely and integrally radiate with its living capacity to change the earth? This Agenda is the whole battle for the future. You do not know what a battle it is, really…
