True normality

Perhaps we all are, taking a closer look, unsuited misfits to this reality?

Indeed we find ourselves engaged in this uneasy transition from an ego that stifles and betrays us to a greater being from whom our desires and attachments still hold us back, as quite disoriented and bemused before the scenes of the world - this world “as it is”. Not only are we no longer convinced, but a strange sort of sorrow seizes us before the magnitude of the deception: how and why could one ever believe and accept that such would be, such must be existence?

What would be true normalcy?

It would be that of a vast communing body of innumerable existence aware of each of its individual lives, which would experience the least distress in any of its parts, as of each of its conscious cells and would at once turn to remedy it.

For there would be no distance between the well-being of its whole and the welfare of its parts.

Yes, our body does know better than us – than our thoughts, our emotions, our impulses – what unity is.

The howling of solitude, the terrifying abandon, the ravages of unstoppable pain, the frightful deafness of distance – the gulf of egoism, of the ignorance of one another: and yet we sometimes find again, sometimes recover this human warmth, the crackling of the hearth that comforts, the arms that open wide and the smile that illumines.

Each one stands alone before the Supreme: this law is necessary and right and open.
