The fields of evolution

During these past millennia religions, as in their fashion the various pursuits called spiritual, have subconsciously persuaded us of a kind of right to qualified hopes: rewards for good conduct, rest, return to the fold, liberation? However we realize as we go that an opening to this consciousness of unity immanent everywhere, transcending everything, embracing all and guiding evolution, is no equivalent of some glorious accession to a beatific state.

It is in fact a matter of great work – of service and progressive becoming within the world itself.

Yes, there is the promise and the certainty of a plenitude here itself, of which the prescience is already given us whenever the ego falls silent or even, sometimes, prostrates before the presence – and one may taste for an instant this joy, at once light and dense, of no longer bearing any weight.

It is also a matter of battling and combating, for the resistances and the oppositions overtake us personally on every side.

When, due to some constitutional incapacity or to some persisting insincerity in our own nature, one is periodically exiled from this embrace, one is placed right in front of the forces that refuse this progress of consciousness. For we may note this: a little as if one was marked “potential enemy”, these forces do seem to stand eager watch over the least of one’s weakening or failing, the smallest relapse or the plainest indulgence, ready to strike, to hurt, even to kill.

Is it then a sort of egotist madness that has seized us, or is one actually targeted?

And why?

Unexpectedly the deed is done, at times through others and at times as an accident, a fall, a physical skid.

What are the stakes?

Is it about the earth, its domination?
