While I am doing the Aarti a visitor, a foreign western woman, walks into the garden and stops before the door to the temple and just glances in and, in that glance, I get the image of religion and rituals… which I never think of, or about, and yet, the facts are that here I am, day in and day out, following neither the recognized rituals of worship to Ganesh nor my own religion, but something in-between, hybrid, evolving, developing, which is partly spiritual and psychic and partly religious, and still very tentative and approximate… And it has been nearly four full years that I am doing this on a steady and daily basis… How privileged You have made me…!
