… Just as I am about to begin the Aarti, that smart fellow comes in and offers Rs. 10/-. Then he asks: “Which Ganapati is this?” And I reply: “Siddha Ganapati…”, which is probably the wrong answer, and not even the one that I thought instantly to give, but… this is what came out… Actually I meant to say “Siddhi Ganapati”; as far as we know, this specific figure of Lord Ganesh, seated on a lotus, with four hands holding the noose, the goad, the right, broken tusk, and a bowl of sweet or a pomegranate to the twisted trunk, is a traditional expression named “Siddhi Ganapati”, but then there are other representations of this “Siddhi Ganapati” with one or two consorts and more hands. And as far as the place is concerned, there are stories of a “siddhar” either being buried here or having done a special sadhana or tapasya in this very place. And to me, over the years, our Sri Ganesh is certainly connected to yoga, a very deep yoga…
