… Parthy hasn’t come with me today: he is to begin his new job at Aurofood, designing and executing (directing the execution) a separate garden of 120’ x 110’; I insisted that he must set his own terms at the very onset, to get respected by these people who otherwise would merely take advantage of him (and of me!). And so today I get all the daily tasks again as before… … Surprise: Madhu, Kusum’s elder son from Ahmedabad, and his wife, come in and sit before Sri Ganesh… It is indeed a very strange situation: one would normally think that some sort of apology is called for, given all the nasty harm Madhu had tried his utmost to inflict on me… But, event though the wife, who enters first, does Namaste, Madhu makes no attempt at any contact, and I simply remain seated at my usual place, near Nandi and facing the shrine, where I always write my notes after the puja. But, at the end of their visit as they make to leave, Madhu does step towards me and bows in silence and does Namaste. I keep still. I see later that they have offered Rs. 50/-
