Of your knowledge –

Satyam Ritam Brihat Aum Namo Bhagavate…

… Just as I am about to leave, another gang of Government people arrive in two cars, with maps in their hands, to measure and quantify whatever built areas are on the land to be acquired, so as to value the compensation to be given to Auroville. The senior man is an elderly, very corpulent fellow, who is quite gentle and attentive; when I right away object to their “valuing” of the bore- well and pump-house, showing them that it is the source of a public drinking water-point and that, without it, there will be no life and no meaning here, he responds to it in his way. Later, I insist they must have the Darshan of Sri Ganesh; and then the fellow assures me he will definitely recommend that the bore-well must remain untouched. But, again, what can this man do…? … Parthy had a small accident at work and came here to show me his sprained thumb… On my side I had a whole episode: sharp pain in the right kidney, heavy and intense burning in the bladder and urinary tract, intestinal confusion and feverishness and shivering; I had to interrupt the puja twice and make myself drink, worrying that I just might collapse right here and this would be a mess. It is only when I willed myself to go on and start singing that it started to ease a little and I was able to complete the Aarti… I don’t know if I am getting caught in a sort of dangerous spiral heading for a breakdown and removal, or if it is a learning process and pain and disorder are unavoidable steps in order to become more aware in the body, to connect to the consciousness in the cells – it is actually the first time I can tell where the kidneys are…! The thing is that, now that every single step demands the exercise of the will and the aching of the nerves in the legs and hips is nearly constant when I stand or walk, I can but wonder…! - 27-07-09:

Sri Ganesh, You are such a lovely and refined Presence, Like a delightful melody
