with Sri Ganesh

Of a rag-tag assembly Of vagrants and wanderers And all, great and lowly,

Lauded and cursed, Are ready and willing

To come to you And so relieved When they do…

As, like petals of snow, Light cascades So finely wrought To flow and embrace And quieten… Your beauty, Sri Ganesh, Knows no borders…

- 27-06-09:

This morning, around 11.30 am, M. came in, offered a garland of “Surrender of Falsehood” flowers to Sri Ganesh and then walked up to me as I was watering the garden and handed back the spare keys – he held them out, hanging from his fingers, and I opened the palm of my hand and he dropped them in it; we did not exchange a single word. This matter, then, is over; or, rather, this aspect, or material expression of the matter. I phoned Selvam to inform him; yesterday he and Anand had met Bhaskar and me at home, to relate their earlier encounter with M. and it appeared that M. had laid as a condition for him to return the keys that Parthy would also return his set, as M. could testify to Parthy’s past wrongdoings at the temple and he was not even Aurovilian… And even though I profoundly dislike this kind of pressure, Selvam committed that, if I recovered the keys from Parthy, he would make sure M. would keep his word and return his. And so, this morning I asked Parthy to return his set of keys and to clarify what was the actual truth as regards M.’s accusations, which I reported to him; and he explained all he knew and immediately handed over his bunch of keys, with tears in his eyes – he had done nothing wrong. However, I had not yet told Selvam this and so, M. could not have known it; and yet he came and returned the keys, as if it was some king of occult release: it is very odd.
