with Sri Ganesh

… Lately I have been reading Sri Aurobindo’s renderings and explanations of the Upanishads: with such high humor and clarity does he lay the path before us…! And somehow – this may be quite illogical! – it confirms me in “my approach” to Sri Ganesh: the goal is really and truly to become, here in the material world, unified, a habitation for delight, the Lord’s delight manifesting in conscious multiplicity…

Sometimes, Sri Ganesh, You dance across the forest As if drunk With the wine of Her Force, And wildly you reap and drag Her Riches and Mysteries –

And in your dance Your Brother is Agni

And together And in truth

As Her Sons and Instruments, You are forcing the darkness To yield its treasures –

And when your dance in The wilderness Has pulled the gold Out of the grime And reaches at last The verge of the world Awaiting, These ancient hoardings Have been transmuted Into Nourishing Harmony – And then, Sunlit you stand, Sun-filled and brimming With nectar, A vast music booming Her Rhythms weaving Abroad All over –
