O Sri Ganesh, What a fine expression Of Her Greatness Is Your dance...

… A man I have not seen before, quite traditional in his dress and demeanor, comes in to have Darshan of Sri Ganesh; but soon I understand he has in fact come to meet Manikandan. And, later, as I drive back by the gate after some purchases on the main road, I see several motor-cycles parked there, as if his “friends” had waited for me to leave before they could gather. This development, along with the undignified behavior Manikandan has been displaying lately to everyone, makes me feel for the first time very uneasy and unwilling to accept and absorb any more… … Quite a few disturbances this morning: a confusion with two young plumbers whom I did not know Manikandan had asked to come and repair a very minor leak in one of the valves; then some road work suddenly took place right by the gate, one of those idiotic shows of civil works that cause more mess in a single day than a whole monsoon would in weeks… And, later, Amrit comes to visit: he wants to meet me in Sri Ganesh’s presence to “confess” to me regarding some personal matters with a friend of his who is also close to me… - 08-04-09:
