... The nights are very cool, with lovely dew at dawn and a very bright full moon... Rs. 10/- are offered... ... The fuse in the main pole has blown; I have called the AV service and the man who comes changes the fuse, but when we try to start the pump, the same thing happens as on last Saturday: there is a wrong connection... These days I have to fight a tenacious and hardy formation of bad temper – I could easily punch someone, for no obvious reason... In the afternoon, the AV electricians + Parthy and AV Selvam all meet here to try and find out what is now wrong with the pump; they all agree that it must be pulled out... So here goes another sizeable expense – I had this childish wish that, once we would pass the One Lakh mark, funds would begin to come in more steadily...

... Shanmugom and his team pull out the pump; they find the motor not responding and a damaged nipple... They set up a spare pump and connect it so I can fill the tank... Rs. 120/ are offered... ... Lately I have been upset with my own weakness and my incapacity to serve harmony in a consistent, generous, egoless manner... I have failed harmony...
