harmony has many different enemies; and some of these enemies are only circumstantial – nonetheless they are powerful and able to destroy and wreak things up... It is not a time to be content with one’s own little spiritual gains...! ... The whole kindergarten come, about 60 children and their teachers, to do their pranams and get prasadam... and the family of monkeys stole in and ate all the offered fruit...! This year I have dressed and adorned you, Sri Ganesh, as the Unknowable King, with Life Energy and Resurrection all about you, and the powerful fruits of Nature in the tide of illumination. Gold and Violet. On either side I have placed the two tall lamps made by Murugan – and I saw the bases as Mother’s symbol and the cups as Auroville’s... And the grasses of the fields and the marble of the mountains and the saps of the earth... At times I would burst with tension. At times I would cry, as the soul hungers and yearns for the Real!

... I spent another Rs. 4,000/- to pay Murugan for his labor (he offers most of it) and for all the brass he had to purchase (3 more kgs)...

A man I do not know offers Rs. 10/- after his pranams. An elderly orthodox fellow comes to pray; two men follow him and offer Rs. 10/- ... I have put on recoded chants to Ganesha, great voices, and I sit watching the King...

Yesterday Mi-Hong sent me an offering for Sri Ganesh: Rs. 500/- ... The headman offers Rs. 10/-
