with Sri Ganesh
through this image and this aspect, I had not dwelt on external characteristics so much as gone through them to their spiritual significances. My work on “Savitri” had also certainly helped me to prepare. But at times I was puzzled: what I was “seeing” or sensing was not always in keeping with the traditional understanding of Sri Ganesh’s qualities and attributes. Yet I had also read here and there that there had been, and perhaps there still is, a certain school or tradition which looks up to Ganesha as to the Supreme itself, but I had not found more information on this sect, the Ganapatyas. Swami Chidananda refers to them as one of the 5 traditional lines or schools of approach to the Supreme: 3 main ones, to Shiva, to Vishnu and to the Shakti, and 2 lesser ones – lesser in terms of popularity perhaps -, to Ganapati and to Surya)

Sri Ganesh, To honor and cultivate the Riches of Creation, With a true Heart, Open the gate to the Garden Of Bliss, Sri Ganesh, Aum Namo Bhagavate.
- 19-01-08:
This is the last day before I leave again, and it will be more than three weeks before I am able to do puja to Sri Ganesh, here in this temple. And today He is truly like an emperor ordaining souls – his staff is the psychic receptivity, his mantle is plasticity, his crown is life-energy surrendered to the Divine, roses of divine love are at his feet, radiating purity emanates from his movements, cleansing those who turn to Him…
Endurance through and through, With full dynamic power of
Realization, Sri Ganesh… Aum Namo Bhagavate.
