with Sri Ganesh
It is true that through you one may sense, perceive, or even reach, the Impersonal – I don’t yet know whether it is within the
manifestation or it is the Unmanifest itself. And one can also find a great Personality…
But then, as I was looking at this, I felt and saw and sensed your eyes, your eyes gazing at me, Sri Ganesh: and first it was someone conscious, a person fully conscious – that is, who can no longer fall unconscious; the eyes, although they remained those of the dark granite stone, were yet of a gold diamond light. And then, it was another facet or aspect of you, tender, as if in and out of a trance, almost bashful, with a smile… The thing is, Sri Ganesh, that this needs be a working sadhana. Recently, I had begun to get the sense of your embracing being; and I knew then how one may become drowned in the absorption of a particular relation with an aspect of the Lord. But then, the mind was also a little interested in making notes, in recording, in claiming a role – the role of questioning and reasoning and delving and enquiring. One question looms large. As it seems, historically, that Sri Ganesh’s form as it is now known has emerged rather recently – no more than 10 or 15 centuries ago – out of a confluence of several different influences and traditions, and this lapse of time is actually so very short – what are 15 centuries in the evolution of consciousness? -, then one needs to understand the process concretely: is human being authoring the form of the god, or is it inspired directly by the Supreme Mother as and when the times require it? Or is it a conjunction of both? … Sri Ganesh, what is a true individuality? Are some of the Rishis’ individualities still working and developing?
