Which town?

The “cost of life” was rapidly rising throughout the country, especially for labor and raw materials. Economic inequalities were looming : could one prevent and avoid them or, at least, control them? As ready housing was not sufficient, those who among the newcomers had some savings could invest them, without any expectation of return or any rights of ownership, into building a residence, contributing as well a proportion of their expenditures to a common fund for the construction of lodgings for those who had no resources – who were by far the more numerous. Likewise, among those who had succeeded in setting up and running a commercial unit profitable for the community, some considered that the spending of part of their earnings for their own personal needs was legitimate, while those who worked in collective services could hardly count on such manna. Each being’s personal attitude will determine one’s relation to and with the Grace = it is a concrete inner apprenticeship which no one can guide from the outside – the answer from the Grace is always active when one is turned to Her without attachment.
