Which town?

As long as we need contrasts and conflicts to measure and stimulate our efforts, the transparent milieu indispensable to the harmonious action of the true consciousness eludes us : yet in this adventure a great luxury of contrasts and polarities was available to our vain, but inevitable, labor. Each area of research and development would elicit its specific opposition and its particular conflictual dynamics = the creation of a natural environment versus that of an exemplary urban milieu; the economic productivity versus the functioning of services; artistic blossoming versus the necessities of physical labor; the practice of a free education adaptable to each individuality versus a systematic education equal if not superior to existing outside programs… - as many opportunities to grasp the complementary of seemingly opposed truths, to grasp it first within oneself by identifying one and the other equally and finding how they complete one another within a more creative unity. It was as if the adventure had moved onto the road of the world and its participants were all children who must prove capable of holding true course and to honor the trust placed in them. Each one gave one’s best to rally to the height of the task, according to one’s nature – to the strengths and weaknesses of one’s as yet mostly unchanged personality,. In the context of this collective quest, of this service for the truth of the terrestrial future, what was the meaning of honesty, integrity, rectitude, loyalty? Could a code a conduct be formulated that would be accepted, recognized and practiced by all aspirants, present and future? Could one trace ethical boundaries according to which the community would deem certain actions as unacceptable, according to which individuals might have to be excluded, expelled or refused? *
