His puissantly illumined words had inspired millions and His Name continued to draw and command unreserved respect – the revolutionary with the tranquil face and soft voice who had awakened and fired so many hearts and minds even before He became the philosopher, the visionary poet, the yogi and the Rishi. And all through the life of Their ashram, members and leaders of the government and committed politicians had come to her – and to Him through Her – and received Her blessings. She would say, it is not the party that counts but the consciousness of the individual who serves the country – one’s probity, clarity, courage, and sincerity. And sometimes She had missioned one disciple or another to transmit a message or participate to an elaboration – for new educational methods, for instance. Those disciples, active in the world, understood the importance of safeguarding both Her legacy of research into the body-consciousness contained in Her Agenda, and the nascent enterprise of Her city, for which it was imperative to find a legal, viable and durable solution that may sustain its growth – a legal identity acceptable to all, that yet would not compromise its freedom of choice and orientation. In this way, some lasting relations were established.
