In order to build this sphere, one first had to erect sturdy towers of temporary support and acquire the many elements of adjustable and movable scaffoldings that would be adapted to each successive stage. The framework of the sphere would consist of four double arcs joined by the first, bottom slab, at the top of the four double pillars, then by four double horizontal arms or brackets just below the equator, which would bear the load of the floor slab of the Inner Chamber, and finally at the very top by a high concrete ring.
