4. Organic wheat-free bread: These are breads made of organic grains like spelt, rice, rye, and oats.

5. Organic whole wheat bread: This is bread made from organic whole wheat.

Once you fall below this standard to conventionally-farmed wheat bread, whether whole wheat or not, you are eating some- thing that is substantially worse for you. Conventionally-farmed grains have over twenty different pesticides, stabilizers, preserv- atives, and fungicides. They are stripped of all nutrients, and the toxic by-products block your body’s ability to absorb other nutri- ents from other foods. 11 There is one other major advantage to eating live organic fruits and vegetables: they have a quality that only live organic food has. It’s a quality lacking in the overcooked, over processed, arti- ficially flavored, dead foods that make up the majority of our modern day diet. That quality is vitality . NOTES 1.
