Sur terre, par le vouloir de cette Arch-Intelligence, Une énergie pure se revêtit de matière ; Usant du proton et du photon l’Oeil imageur Fit un monde physique de choses subtiles Et l’invisible apparut en tant que forme Et l’impalpable fut senti en tant que masse : La magie du percept, jointe à l’art du concept, Accorda à chaque objet un nom interprète, Et l’idée fut déguisée dans l’ouvrage d’un corps ; Par la mystique d’une étrange loi atomique Un cadre fut créé où le sens put placer Son tableau symbolique de l’univers. Un plus grand miracle fut même accompli. La lumière médiatrice relia le corps, Le sommeil et le rêve de l’arbre et la plante, Le sens vibrant de l’animal, la pensée dans l’homme, A l’éclat constant d’un Rayon au-dessus. Soutenant le droit de la Matière à penser, Elle ouvrit des passages au mental de la chair, Donnant à la Nescience un moyen de connaître. Offrant ses petits cubes et carrés de parole Elle aida la Force à déchiffrer ses œuvres. Une conscience ensevelie se leva en elle : Et maintenant elle se rêve humaine, éveillée. A buried consciousness arose in her And now she dreams herself human and awake. Its symbol picture of the universe. Even a greater miracle was done.

But all was still a mobile Ignorance; Still Knowledge could not come and firmly grasp

This huge invention seen as a universe. A specialist of logic's hard machine Imposed its rigid artifice on the soul;
