My experience of Satprem

Nevertheless, Satprem then found himself obliged to rectify the aim and to reestablish, while widening it, the general perspective. His open letter of clarification was very much welcome.

But for many this announcement of the end had been perceived as sheer ignorance. For Mother had founded Auroville with the full knowledge and awareness of the conditions…! Who else but She could see all and embrace all and, in Her direct knowledge of human nature, could propose such a challenge…! She alone knew and She would watch over Auroville’s integrity and progress, come what may and whatever be our shortcomings. One simply had to hold firm and to learn to serve Her within the very complexity of the task. And indeed, along with the influx of new participants, each with their baggage, their hopes and their expectations, this complexity has but grown heavier, even while a healthy diversity has come to further materialize the fundamental universality of Auroville.
