My experience of Satprem

It was this very presence which was lacking in Satprem. Yet, his flame was fraternal and one could clearly feel how his prayer was to guard from all spiritual ego and all religious imaging of service to the divine. D.M suffered in her body and she had done nothing but give herself unreservedly to a central and common necessity for the future – she, whose first child, Aurolouis, had already drowned two years earlier in an open well (several of the first Auroville children drowned in this manner, as if they were not finding the conditions required as yet)… We each had our turn of duty by her side. The lower part of the body was paralyzed, both jaws were shattered and there were many other fractures, but she was conscious. She fought to serve. One day, as I was coming to take my turn, it was an afternoon I think, I found Satprem. He had just been at her side for a while and was about to leave, with R.T who had accompanied him. Satprem saw me arrive and came towards me his hands outstretched and trembling, and told me: “it takes time to understand that one loves and one is loved…”
