We need barriers to feel that we exist, we need to be assured this here is “me” and that, there, is “thee” or “the others”. We do not conceive of the possibility of material existence without the protection of a defined physical identity: beyond our skin lies the big wide world, “external” to us. Thereafter comes the time when separation, the state of separateness, becomes a burden, a cause of sorrow and distress, an obstacle, a falsehood and a terrible contradiction.

But how to physically resolve this contradiction, this seeming impossibility even to our sensations?

How to preserve the ever progressive possibility of individualization expressing itself in matter, while remaining conscious at once of the Source and unity of all that is manifest – that is, to exist physically without ego?
