How to call It?

And this body, our body, this vehicle and this material envelope in a world often hostile and unpredictable, and although it be committed and destined to disintegration, this body is our refuge – our shelter, our name, our security.

Why is the body condemned to degradation and death?

We do not know and perhaps have never known.

Is it the effect of a malediction, of a betrayal, of a first duplicity?

Is it the consequence of a first will for power and independence which projected us all – for eternity? – into alienation?

Is not the cross the symbol of this mortal body to which, by an ignorant, egoistic and exclusive identification, we are nailed? ***

The manifestation is a flux.
