MIZORAM
Aizwal, a small hill station, is the capital of Mizoram, Mizoram State Museum. Bara Bazar - main shopping area for goods ranging from handi- crafts to utility items.

Champhai - view of hills of Burma. Dampa Sanctuary (1976 Estd.), bamboo (l/5th) and rest semi evergreen with Swamp deer, elephant and hoolock gibbon.
MEGHALAYA
Formed in 1972 with 5 districts taken from Assam. Home of the Khasi, Jaintia and Garo tribes. The capital Shillong is a popular hill station known as the Scotland of the East. Many waterfalls around Shillong including Crinoline waterfalls. Cherrapunji : 54 kms from Shillong. The former wettest place on earth with an average annual rainfall of 1150 cm (nearly 40ft). However of late Mawsyaram on the southern slope of the Khasi Hills has beaten the record with 2300 cms of rain a year. 6 kms away is Mosmai Falls ( 2000ft) the fourth highest in the world. Khasi Hills: Wards lake lying adjacent to the botanical gardens in the city, boating facilities available. Lady Hydari park : Colourful park and nursery. Five Waterfall - Sweet, Beadon, Bishop, Elephant and Croco- dile falls. Umiam lake - Water sport complex with sailing, water skiing and tobogganing facilities available. Ideal picnic spot. Jakrem - Health resort with hot sulphur springs having medicinal values. Dawki - Picnic spot, royal bath of Jaintiapur kings, Syndai cave. Ranikar - Spot for angling - Carp and fresh water fish. Garo Hills - Nehru Botanical Garden. Mini Zoo and Tara Peak with glorious sunset views, can be reached by five kilometre trekking through the forest. Jiantia Hills - Thadlaskein lake, 56 kms from Shillong. A picnic spot with boating facilities among pine trees. Nartiang known for monoliths (tallest - 8mts called Goliath of Jainta Hills). Nongkhyllem sanctuary -binturong, clouded leopard, golden cat and leopard cat. Siju sanctuary - small sanctuary with forest of mixed vegetation
NAGALAND
Became the 16th state of the Indian Union in 1962. The Naga tribes are mostly Christian. The capital is Kohima (48600 ft), The Japanese and Subhas Chandra Bose's Azad Hind Fauj reached here during the Second World War before being turned back by the British. There is a war memorial and cemetery in which 1421 allied soldiers are buried. The inscription says: " When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today." Dimapur : On the plains, commercial centre and Nagaland's only airport. Kohima : Museum - articles depicting tradition and history of Naga tribes. Zoological Park - rich flora & fauna and world famous Blythe Tragopan. Japfu Peak : Spot for scaling and trekking at altitude of 3,043 mts. View of Kohima town and distant snow clad Himalayan peaks. Fakim Sanctuary : Altitude - 3,000 mts with heavy rainfall, Tiger, hoolock gibbon and tragopan pheasant. Itanki Sanctuary : elephant Puliebadze Sanctuary : Tragopan and Kaleej pheasant.
