Another Choice

The axis of the Trinity

Let us suppose – since, mentally, we can but suppose – that there is only Consciousness, that only Consciousness is; let us suppose further that time and space, matter, life, thought, are all in fact and in truth states of the consciousness, in which and by which it manifests differently. And let us suppose too that the human body contains in its own consciousness – organic, cellular, atomic – traces of the entire evolution of matter to this day and therefore is the most articulated and developed representative, to this day, of evolution in matter, of matter. And let us suppose also that the individual evolving inner being, the individual soul, carries within itself the essence of an entire experiential journey through epochs and millennia, like an emissary of the One in each human being – a pure spark which gradually becomes a conscious star. And let us now suppose that the Force of Consciousness always stands at the highest of what is manifest at any universal moment, ready to bring down into it the following stage and state, ready always to work and act in it so as to establish the required receptivity.

Such is this axis: an active trinity, for the becoming of the incarnate consciousness, for the evolution of what is already manifest.

With each renewed contact, we grow more aware of the circulation of the current.

As one presents oneself in it such as one still is, one feels at times like a hand of blessing and, at times, a pitiless pressure, or like a sword plunging straight into our shadow and, at other times, a flow of nectar, or else a wave of plenitude or yet again an intensity of presence to the world.

And then, periods which can last as much as weeks or months together will abandon us like shipwrecks to the ordinary flux of a more or less enlightened physical consciousness, more or less awakened to another valuing of all experience, more or less perceptive of the deeper truth of beings and things.
