Another Choice

The outward relationship of disciple and master, at once so demanding and so privileged, without which no teaching could really be transmitted with integrity, now appears to give way to other frequencies and modes of communication.

The churning of humanity intensifies.

Contagions pass and cross and meet one another.

Acquired or innate capacities and faculties from East and West, North and South and from one continent to another clash and oppose, adapt and marry, coalesce and degrade and liberate and join with the call and the need for more consciousness and for another human - or more than human – condition.

And in this way the Master’s agent, internalized, may now make itself accessible to whomever of those who wake up to the inner choice.

The authentic spiritual master has the task of leading the disciple to one’s own unique realization.

Their relationship, by definition, transcends both life and death and exists beyond the formation of the momentary ego.

This relationship initially necessitates not only mutual recognition and acceptance but unconditional commitment from both the parts, so as to survive all obstacles and vicissitudes of the journeying that will ensue.

This relationship, so very profound and central and integral, has existed through the ages.

The greater the Master and the heavier the task: for, the more consciousness there is and the more work can be done.
