Another Choice

The Matter of the Supreme

In the presence of this gaze, of this other nature, of this clear source, by its radiation so humble and discreet and so free of our biases and preferences, there occurs a shift in the importance and in the “value” of things. Facts, situations, states and conditions to which we would give but a very casual attention, or else that we would take for granted, now become charged with a meaning, a message or a call, of which we had been unaware. And we realize that the notions and concepts we used to deal and proffer here and there without thinking have now lost all depth and all sense from the standpoint of our new experience and that we must now verify them all directly. Inasmuch as we are able to maintain the contact with the presence, we evade the terrestrial formation which holds humanity within its corral and, by this other gaze and this other sense, we feel, see and comprehend that all, absolutely all, is sacred. That is to say that, referring to the analytic approach, everything exists simultaneously within this restricting, compelling formation, reduced to three dimensions and prey to all the opposites, - and in its true dimension, sovereign and sacred.

This reversal or recovery is even more stirring and bewildering and shattering when we turn “downwards”, to the physical and material nature of the earth – and to the body.

This material nature, which we have scorned, treated with contempt, exploited, misused, abased and spoilt – this matter, we now realize, IS the Supreme.
