A Tale for Tomorrow

There came a silence, as if a dimensional suspension, they could not have said how long it lasted, perhaps in another condition of time, immobile and yet fully inhabited and, when they came back to themselves and their assembly in the clearing, the sun had just reached the crest of the tallest trees. L’Etoile shifted a little forward so she could kneel; she joined her hands in front of her and slowly and softly but firmly expressed thus: “Let us thank, let all of us be thankful and hold within us the charge of this great privilege; I do believe, how I don‟t know, that this alignment we have experienced here in this incomprehensible place, that this meeting which has confirmed each of us on our discovery of the Force, which has made each of us grow – that this moment of another time, which has been given us here, has inscribed its message and is coming to its term; and I know now that you all are, that we are part of a single great family come to serve in the world so it may open to its truth and deliver its new birth... yes, let us thank, let us be thankful...” And Tan too knelt, all smile and lightened up, in approval: “Yes, this is what I also feel, we have known here the deliverance from temporal identities by realizing the community of the Force and I believe we shall go to sleep one more time in that great hall, to be brought back to our respective tasks, knowing that no external power can contradict our verified unity, which is the promise, the sign and the proof of a truer condition upon Earth...”
